This Weekend: the 10th Anniversary of the Dage vs Nulgath War

Ten years have passed since the first time you chose a side and fought in the eternal conflict between Dage the Evil and Nulgath the ArchFiend. The time to battle has come once more. Log in /join darkwar to fight for your commander. Prove your loyalty and worth as you fight to determine -- again -- which Commander's forces are strongest, and whose power is darkest.

Choose a side and fight for Dage or Nulgath
Defeat enemies to complete war waves and raise the war meter
25% War Meter: New map area, monsters, quests, and merge shop resource unlocked
50% War Meter: War Chest Merge Shop, new monsters, and merge shop resource unlocked
75% War Meter: War Miniboss + faction-specific rewards unlocked in the merge shop
Raise the war meter to 100% to unlock the war boss

Once the war meter hits 100%, battle to collect the pieces of an all-new 0 AC armor set from the war boss!

Undead Legion members: once the war meter hits 75%, 9 faction-specific rewards will be unlocked requiring war merge items + Legion tokens

Master of the UnderWorld story so far...

It has been 10 years since AQW heroes first battled through the Dage vs Nulgath war. The Master of the Underworld story tells a tale in 3 parts:

Part 1 in /FiendPast
The first chapter -- released in January to celebrate Nulgath's birthday -- was set in the distant past, as Nulgath reigned unchallenged. Your hero battles as Nulgath's Commandant. Your task? To observe Dage the Lich, a promising new addition to your Master's Nation... and assess his loyalty. (*insert ominous foreshadowing music here*)

Part 2 in /DageRecruit
The second chapter released last week as we celebrated Dage's birthday, and was also set in the past. Your hero plays AS Dage the Evil. Your goal? To recruit powerful allies, take out potential enemies, and gear up for war against your former master, Nulgath.

Part 3 in /DarkWar

The drumbeats of war sound once again! This weekend, we jump to the present day in the final chapter of the Master of the Underworld story. It's been ten years since the last all-out battle, and there is NO END in sight to the eternal conflict between these two sides. Play as your hero as you choose a side and fight to prove your allegiance and collect the dark, deadly rewards.

WHO am I fighting for? And why?

If you have been unfortunate to wander Nulgath's malevolent realm and quested for his powerful rewards, then you know exactly what he is. If you have journeyed to Shadowfall and navigated the halls of Gravelyn's fortress to join the Undead Legion, you've met Dage the Evil.

But that does not tell you who they ARE. Read on to learn more about the diabolical leaders you've bound yourselves to... and if you haven't yet, then now is the perfect time to decide which has your loyalty!

Once a power-mad necromancer, Dage signed Nulgath's contracts and rode the fast lane to even more strength. Eventually the time came for Dage, like so many others before him, to fulfill his contract and pay Nulgath for his power, but he had used his new knowledge to bind a portion of his soul to an armor of his own construction.

This remnant lives on and retains all the knowledge and strength of his previous life. Now Dage the Evil rivals Nulgath himself in evil power.

Through the ages, Nulgath has taken many forms and been known by many names. Recently however, it was revealed that each of his previous forms were merely larval stages of the diabolic evolution into his current, malevolent form.

Now Nulgath serves no master, only his own ceaseless lust for power and hunger for the souls he captures through his contracts. Since Dage the Evil's rise to power, it remains to be seen which of these creatures is truly the greatest evil.
